The patchy provision of broadband across the district is frustrating for residents and holds back local businesses. We are committed to working with other Suffolk
authorities on an initiative to achieve 100% high-speed broadband coverage.
We are in the final stages of putting together a bid for over £90 million of Government and EU funding to ensure that across Suffolk we get the broadband coverage
we deserve.
We have committed a relatively modest £30 thousand to the project using some of the money we got back from central government for our success in developing our local economy ( LABGI FUNDS ). This is yet another one of many examples example of how we have used government funding as seed money to bring in even more public external investment at no direct cost to local council tax payers.
We will also support local community schemes to use innovative ways to reach those isolated properties and communities who remain some distance from the local cabinet even when that is supplied by high-speed fibre.
